The geographic position and astonishing beauty of nature make Igalo and
Herceg Novi the most attractive resorts on Adriatic coast of Montenegro.
Situated in a region steeped in art and history, surrounded by unique and
enchanting countryside, and blessed by a mild Mediterranean climate with
an average temperature of 25,6 degrees C in July and 9,2 degrees C in
January and warm, crystal clear sea with the temperature during swimming
season between 22 and 26 degrees C, these two towns joined into one,
propose an alternative to the traditional holiday destination.
Igalo is easy accessible from all directions and by all means of
transportation. There are two international airports (Dubrovnik’s airport
Cilipi-26 km. and Tivat-22km.) within easy reach, used by majority of
foreign tourists.
Adriatic Highway with its three joining directions to Dubrovnik and
Mostar, to Trebinje and Sarajevo and to Montenegrin capital of Podgorica,
is connecting Igalo with all the major roads in our country, as well as,
with
the roads in neighboring Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina and the rest
of Europe.
Ferries link the Italian coast to ports of Dubrovnik and Bar. Islands and
other towns along the coast can also be reached by ferry or boat.
There is also a regular shuttle bus line to the Bar terminal of the
Belgrade-Bar railway. The Bay of Kotor is one of the Mediterranean’s most
spectacular natural attractions. It is a great fjord like inlet of the sea
consisting of a series of smaller bays surrounded by cactuses, oleander
and palm trees. A road following most of the shoreline links a string of
small historic towns, villages and recently developed holiday resorts. Two
places on your “must not miss” list will certainly be cities of Dubrovnik
(in Croatia, 45 km north-west) and Kotor (40 km east), both protected by
the UNESCO as the world heritage sites.
